Next day listing

Our house had been on the market for almost 6 months. Hopes of selling it had slowly faded and the idea of staying in Karns was not so bad after all. We had already started making plans to build a backyard deck in the winter, enjoy it for a while in the spring and maybe try putting the house on the market again in the summer. But then, one weekend in late January, we got an offer!  It wasn't a strong one, so we really didn't believe it would amount to anything. However, we countered it, and on the slight chance that we might actually end up selling, we started looking for apartments/condos/lofts downtown again.

We first started talking seriously about living in downtown Knoxville about a year earlier. The idea of being able to walk to virtually everything - restaurants, parks, movies, museums, theaters - had always been appealing to me, but it had just recently grown on Jerry. In spite of all the conveniences that living downtown would bring, one thing would not change with our move to the urban scene: both of us would still need our cars to get to work. And if you live in Knoxville you know that our public transportation system is definitely not our forte! So parking was really important to us and so was location, location, location!

Not wanting to compromise on either, we were always on the lookout for anything that might be available in the Pembroke, which seemed to have everything we wanted. It had the perfect location - a block from Market square- and a parking garage that belonged to the building with deeded parking spaces for residents. But throughout the duration of our home being listed, not once had we seen an apartment available at the Pembroke within our size and price range. That was until, after a couple of counter offers, our negotiations with our buyer were done and , low and behold, our house went under contract! Just like that, the next day Jerry finds a new listing on Zillow for a unit in the Pembroke! Could it be the place?
